Create an SMS QR code

An SMS QR code opens the phone messaging app with a prepared recipient and optional text. It works well for support requests, competitions, confirmations and simple offline campaigns.

Make mobile replies easier

Instead of asking people to type a number and keyword, place both inside the QR code. The user can still review and edit the message before sending.

Test on common phones

SMS handling can vary slightly between devices. Scan the final code on iPhone and Android and keep the message concise.

Step by step

  1. Open the SMS tab.
  2. Enter the recipient phone number.
  3. Add an optional message.
  4. Test and download PNG or SVG.

Questions and answers

Does scanning send the SMS?

No. It only opens a prepared message. The user must tap Send.

Does QRLuma store the message?

No. Static SMS content is created in the browser and encoded directly in the QR code.
