Create a Wi-Fi QR code

A Wi-Fi QR code lets guests connect without typing a long password. It is useful in homes, cafés, restaurants, salons, offices, holiday apartments and reception areas.

What the code contains

The QR code stores the network name, security type, password and whether the network is hidden. Compatible phones recognize this information and offer to join the network. QRLuma creates this code locally in your browser.

Tips for a reliable print

Enter the network name exactly as configured in the router. Choose WPA for most modern networks and test the finished code with both an iPhone and an Android phone. Place the code where guests can scan it easily, but avoid publishing a private password on the open internet.

Step by step

  1. Open the Wi-Fi tab in the generator.
  2. Enter the network name and select the security type.
  3. Add the password and mark hidden network only when needed.
  4. Scan the preview, then download the PNG.

Questions and answers

Does the Wi-Fi password remain private?

The password is encoded in the QR image. Anyone who can scan the image may be able to join the network, so display it only to intended guests.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Modern iPhone and Android cameras normally recognize standard Wi-Fi QR codes. Always test with the devices your guests use.
